My name is Skye Stevens, I have a bachelor’s degree in finance, I spent some time as a mortgage loan officer, and more importantly, I have experience practicing what I preach. I have always been good with money. Living off of little (and learning better ways to do it) while learning to save and invest the difference. Most of what I learned was either self-taught or learned through thousands of hours of independent study. The practical things are rarely if ever handed to us. As I finished my degree and started looking into a career in helping people regain their independence, I was disgusted at what I saw and now understood was happening in the field of finance. People of lower income who really needed the help were ignored while the wealthiest among us had their money slowly siphoned away by financial advisors who did little to actually help. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to focus on those that need the most help. I wanted to focus on educating people about their finances so that they can take control of their lives. Rather than hide my actions behind a veil of confusing terms that don’t mean anything, I wanted to offer transparency and honesty while pushing people toward a better future.
